The only time I'm happy is when I'm playing my violin or doing Chemistry.  It's really not healthy to live like that.

Physics is okay so far.  I mean, it's not Chemistry, but it's okay.

I've perfected three new songs in the past week.  I think I've got a problem...other than the government being mentally effing retarded.  Or maybe it's CAUSED by that.

Hm.  Anyone else noticed that summer has been in this insane time vortex-like thing?  Sometimes I feel like it can't go by any faster and we're zooming through, yet other times a single day feels like it lasts a week.

Oh, for all those (hopefully still) interested in a strings group for the fall, we're meeting the first Saturday after classes start.

Why has everyone been so quiet lately?

I just finished my latest piece.  It's gorgeous and perfect.

School almost is back in session.  Summer went by fast...

YES.  My AP scores FINALLY got mailed to me.  I couldn't handle waiting the extra few days to open them myself, so I had Mom open them on the phone and tell me.

AP Chem - 5 (well...I was sort of expecting that.  If I *hadn't* gotten a five, there would have been epic Katharine angsting)
AP Psych - 5 (YAY!!!!!!!)

So in conclusion I am now going to be a happier person for at least a week because of this.  I'll try and stop angsting about the government for maybe two days.

Seriously.  It's already August.  I'm ready for a new year and Not Ready at the same time.

James and I are coming back soooon.

We spent the summer having lots and lots and lots of fun.
James was fawned on by the parents.  Mom and Dad hardly want to even let him come here.  But they will.

Mom and Dad had their usual Fourth of July celebration.  I refrained from punching anyone.  I did step on Suzie McCrain's foot though.  She said something derogatory to her boyfriend (who would be with Suzie McCrain is BEYOND me) about my brother.  Or in general.  Whatever.  Stepping on her foot was much better than punching her.  Well.  For her.  *has more self-control* 

So it appears that I will actually be home for some of the summer.  As James is back, there is no way Mom and Dad would let him stay here without visiting (and I'm sure that he would like to see them too-despite if he protests).  So we shall be home in upstate New York for the rest of June and July.  We're leaving to come back here in early August.

Not entirely sure how I feel about that, but whatever.  I don't really mind going home so much.  Besides the fact that I have to give him his (now extremely late-but that is entirely his fault) birthday present.

Caleb, you gave Jason his present right?  Did he like it???

So I'm having a minor dilemma.

What classes should I take next semester?  I wish I could enroll in Chemistry again, but AP Chem is the highest level of hs chem, so that's out.  Leaving my science utterly free.  I suppose  I could take Physics or AP Physics or something.

Speaking of.  No clue which math to take.  I already did AP Calc.  I could do Calc BC next year or I could do stats.  I'm not sure how happy I'd be in stats.

I'm  thinking either Brit Lit or AP English.  Any suggestions?

Whaaat social studies should I take???  Eeep.  And which gym?

Latin 2 is is my only definite class.  Which leaves me an open class.  Do I take concert band again to get better in flute?  Or something else entirely.

I'm at a loss.  *insert sigh here*

Yeah.  Um, not as stressful as I would have anticipated.  I'm sort of done all of my work and I've even studied mostly?

It's different than I expected.  I expected...well I expected it to be like it was with James.  Having someone to talk to all the time.  About anything and everything.  But beyond not finding my elusive brother, it is nice.

I can practice whenever I want without Mom or Dad telling me it's too early or too late or not an appropriate time.

I found some cool people here.  More so than the assholes that inhabit most of my home town.

The only thing on my mind presently is the Psych paper and making it fit in the length requirements without it being crap.  It'll be good.  I hope.

The room is kind of big.  I mean.  Big for being all by myself, as it's a double inhabited by a single person.  Buuut yeah.  All my stuff is neatly arranged in half of it.

I think after classes tomorrow I'll practice the flute.  I've sort of neglected it as of late.  The violin is my best friend that I turn to whenever I need an outlet.  The flute is like...a new friend I'm still getting to know.

God I'm such a nerd.

So...If anyone's reading this.  I was wondering if there's a strings group.  Or anyone else who plays a string instrument and wants to make one or something?  Are there any protocols for that?  Um. Yeah.  Just curious.

It's nice here. I actually like it? It's different from back home, but not in a bad way. I hope it snows in Missouri...you know. It probably doesn't? I should have thought of that before I came. But alas. There was no way I could stay with Mom and Dad and not James. I love Mom and Dad but. Without James I go from being the Chemistry Prodigy little girl to EVERYTHING. It was just too much stress. It's better for me this way. Anyway, I do like it here. I joined band. I wonder if they have strings in the band here. I did bring my violin. And my flute. I suppose I could ask, though I'm partial to the violin. I will make friends here. Ha. I think if I say it enough times it'll come true. Damnit James. I wish you were here.

Edit: Scratch that. It does snow in MO. maybe not as much as back home but it does snow. Sweet.
